This famous beach of Mumbai is on the shore of Arabian sea. Apart from being sandy, it also had Rocky formations. Stretching for almost 6 km, it is a popular tourist spot. It’s food court offers typical Mumbai street food: chaat counters, ice gola, Chinese, pav bhaji and many such delicacies. A part of this beach lies under the departure path from Runway 27 and arrival path of Runway 09 of the Mumbai airport. Therefore, it sees aircrafts in the beautiful sky. The mesmerising sunset experiences the peace and quiet in the hustle of the city. It is usually crowded on weekends and public holidays. Measures have been taken under the Swaach Bharat Abhiyaan to maintain cleanliness and hygiene on the beach.
Many water sports activities have been introduced recently. Jet engine boats, surfing, hot air balloons and many more amazing activities. It’s a great family spot where the children enjoy building sand castles while the elders enjoy the calm. The silence is intruded by the strong blowing wind and the sound of the roaring waves. People also enjoy having a bath in these waves. Horse carriage is occasionally seen dashing through the winds. It is a compulsory tourist attraction if in Mumbai. It is a peaceful unique paradise between the hustle of the city.
